For more than 20 years, The Salvation Army Williams Lake Corps has been honoured to host a Community Christmas Meal for our neighbours. It has been one of the most meaningful expressions of our care for this community, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who has shared a meal with us, volunteered their time, or supported this event over the years.
After careful consideration, we have made the decision to transition away from the Community Christmas Meal and focus our energy on our Thanksgiving Community Meal as our signature seasonal gathering.
This decision was not made lightly. We have prayerfully considered how we can best serve our community with the resources we have, and we believe this is the right step forward.
Our Thanksgiving Community Meal will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 from 12pm-1:30pm.
It is meal for everyone - a chance to gather, give thanks, and share a meal together. For those who may not have a place to go, we want you to know: there is a seat at our table.
The Salvation Army is still here for you - every day.
We continue to offer a wide range of Programs and services in Williams Lake, including:
- Foodbank and Vouchers
- Shareshelf
- Daily Meal Program (breakfast and lunch)
- Hygiene Centre (laundry and shower)
- Fitness Centre (free of charge)
- Spiritual Care
- Outreach and Advocacy services
- Drop-In Centre
- Christmas Hampers
Other community organisations in Williams Lake also offer Christmas meals and holiday support. We encourage anyone looking for assistance this Christmas season to reach out to us and we will help connect you with the right resources.
